Former ABC Television newsreader Deborah Kennedy is a familiar face in Western Australia and will add elegance and style as Master of Ceremonies at your corporate event, or as an after dinner speaker.

Deborah has been a journalist since 1985 and is one of only a handful in Western Australia who has had a high profile career across three media …print, radio and television. Deborah presented ABCTV 1 nightly news in WA between 1998 and 2004. During that time she also presented the ABC’s Asia Pacific News Service into Asia. Between 2008 and 2010 Deborah was the co-producer and anchor of WIN Television news in Western Australia. She read breakfast radio news in Perth between 2004 and 2008 and has written for a number of magazines in Australia and internationally.

Deborah is an accomplished Master of Ceremonies. Some of her more high profile events include hosting the prestigious Hyundai Hopman Cup New Year’s Eve Ball in Perth (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), the Australian Hotels’ Association Accommodation Hotels Ball (2008, 2009, 2010) and the WA Premier’s Public Sector Commission Awards (2009, 2010), as well as the WA Consumer Protection Awards (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010).

Some of Deborah’s other hosting credits include the Woodside 50th Anniversary Gala Ball, the WA Screen Awards, the WA Housing Industry Awards, the HIA LandCorp GreenSmart Awards, the WA Training Excellence Awards, the Margaret River Wine Festival and the Rio Tinto 40th Anniversary in-house video.
