Univation 2011

On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend Univation 2011, scheduled for Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 November 2011 here in Perth.

Last year’s event proved to be a great success, and was a highlight of the innovation calendar in WA.   The event showcased some of the top research being developed at West Australia’s University’s, and also featured leading venture capitalists and industry investors from across Australia and Silicon Valley.

Some of the key metrics were:

• 220 Participants from across the innovation sector
• Showcase and presentations of over 20 University created start-ups and research projects
• Numerous contacts and discussions were initiated between researchers, industry and investors that have resulted in tangible collaboration outcomes

One of the main aims of the event is to stimulate dialogue between researchers and industry, and continue to build the innovation ecosystem in WA.   This year’s agenda will include over 20 exciting research projects and international speakers including:

Bill Tai, Partner, Charles River Ventures, Silicon Valley

This year we have introduced a new component to the program by launching the WApps. This is a competition to identify the best mobile application concept from staff, students and alumni of WA Universities. The first prize includes resources to build and launch a mobile app.
